Meet Rick Thompson, Technical Recruiter
Rick Thompson is a Technical Recruiter at System Soft. He began his journey at System Soft during the summer of 2021. He’s been an IT recruiter for 15 years.
Rick answered five questions about his career and professional journey. Here’s more about Rick in his words.
How did you get into the field and what do you like most about it?
I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in finance and took a job selling manufacturing tools. I wasn’t excited with the role and took another interview that I felt went well.
Not knowing the rules of having a job lined up before you quit, I resigned thinking I would get the job. I was mistaken. I didn’t get the role and was back at my parents, without a job.
Thankfully, an IT company found my resume online and hired me for sales, and I never looked back.
What does your role at System Soft involve daily and what specialties do you serve?
Every morning, I prioritize my day setting up interviews, reclosing candidates and focusing on finding new candidates who best match the top jobs we have open.
What made you want to join System Soft’s ITCS team?
I got the impression after my interviews that System Soft had a great culture. People were passionate about growing and driving the company forward. There seemed to be tons of potential from my interviews and research on System Soft.
These were some of the main factors on my decision to join the team.
What System Soft core value(s) do you relate to most and why?
I would have to say integrity. I think integrity is important to have to drive all other values. Without integrity, it’s hard to build relationships with candidates, and gain respect with your clients and team.
What’s a fun fact about you most people at System Soft don’t know?
I love pickle juice, and was elected class clown. 😊
